I was a little blown away just now when I realized that "Biggie" has been dead for more than 16 years. I never really think of "Hypnotize" as an old song, but it was released as a single in December of 1996, three months before his murder. For some reason the lyric "your daughter's tied up in a Brooklyn basement" always makes me laugh, I have no idea why. And I know I'm doing a bit of a disservice to The Notorious B.I.G. by saying this, but whenever I hear "Hypnotize" I'm reminded of this scene from the movie 10 Things I Hate About You (a totally underrated cheesy teen comedy from 1999):
