Slam was a huge hit for Onyx in the summer of 1993. But that's all I'm going to say about the song, because I've just discovered something else much more interesting:While watching the video for the first time in many, many years, I realized that one of the group's members (Fredro Starr, pictured) is the actor who played the bad guy Malakai in Save the Last Dance. Also starring in the 2001 Julia Stiles film was Kerry Washington, a decade before she became super-famous as Olivia Pope.
