Comeback queen Martina Hingis won her fifth major doubles title of the year (by @SI_ENewman): http://t.co/WJK8xWQ7mC pic.twitter.com/ZtBmbhcCHm— SI Tennis (@SI_Tennis) September 14, 2015
Um, what? The same Martina Hingis who was the best female tennis player in the world in 1997? I though she retired in 2002? (She did.) Then she came back, got as high as No. 6 in the rankings, and retired again in 2007. And now, in 2015, Hingis won two Grand Slam doubles titles and three in mixed doubles, including both at the U.S. Open--17 years since the last time she won a doubles championship there?
How is that possible?
